How long does rhinoplasty surgery take?
Rhinoplasty usually takes 2-3 hours, though complicated
procedures may take longer.
Can
you correct a previous nose job?
Rhinoplasty can be performed to correct previous results,
whether you're unhappy with the look or if the original
surgery created functional difficulties such as trouble
breathing.
What
is the best nose for me?
The best nose for you is one that is in harmony with
your other facial features. The "ideal" shape
is an aesthetic concept rooted in perceptions of beauty
that differ over time and cultures. Prior to surgery,
Dr. Markus will discuss all these aspects with you.
How
long will it take for me to see the final result?
The most significant changes will be immediately apparent,
while the smaller, more subtle changes will take a longer
time to see. While the major changes will be apparent
immediately, the more subtle changes do take time to
become apparent. Healing is a gradual process that may
take up to a year.
Is
rhinoplasty covered by insurance?
Rhinoplasty to correct functional problems such as breathing
difficulties is often covered by insurance. However,
rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons is generally not covered
by insurance. Check with your health insurance provider
to see what type of coverage you have and if they have
any pre-operative requirements. Dr. Markus's staff is
familiar with this procedure and will be happy to assist
you in dealing with your insurance company.
