Two Weeks Before Surgery

Melanex is used to pre-bleach the skin and remove any unwanted pigmentation (coloring of the skin). Apply Melanex solution daily as follows:

• Wash face with a mild soap and gently dry.
• Apply a thin layer of Melanex to the area Dr. Markus is going to laser.
• Apply a moisturizer over the Melanex.

If the Melanex irritates your skin, discontinue using it and notify Dr. Markus’s office.

Two Days Before Surgery

Two days before your scheduled treatment, take Zovirax pills 3 times a day as prescribed by Dr. Markus.

Morning of Surgery

Do’s

• Cleanse your face well.
• Wear comfortable clothes including a shirt that buttons in the front.
• Arrange for someone to drive you home.
• Take your antibiotic 1 hour before the treatment with a tiny sip of water.
• Take a Zovirax pill the morning of the surgery; continue for 8 days.

Don’ts

• Do not wear makeup,
• Don’t use hairspray or other hair styling products.
• Don’t wear a pullover shirt.
