Procedure: Liposuction of the
abdomen and chest (treatment of gynecomastia).
Patient
Concerns: This 59 year old male was 5'9",
weighed 170 pounds. He was concerned about the
fullness of his abdomen and chest, two areas that
were unresponsive to diet and exercise.
Dr.
Markus’ Treatment: Internal ultrasound-assisted
lipectomy was performed to the abdomen and chest
area. Internal ultrasound was used in the abdomen
and chest areas to break up fat cells and adhesions.
This technique allows Dr. Markus to attain smooth
results when treating the firm fibrous tissues
of these areas. A total of 1200ccs (2.5 pounds)
of fat tissue was removed from the abdomen and
chest. With the removal of fat from the abdomen,
the patient's skin was resilient and contracted
appropriately to the reduction in size. Even at
age 59, in many patients, skin is resilient. This
patient also underwent treatment of gynecomastia.

Comments: "Thank you for the excellent
experience from my recent procedure. Although
I was prepared for whatever
I was very pleasantly
surprised all the way through. The outpatient
hospital experience was great. They took very
good care of me. You and your team made this easy
for me - I had no pain and very little discomfort.
I took 1 Tylenol tablet the first night and nothing
after that. I only missed 1 day of work and was
back to all my normal routines in just a few weeks.
I really appreciate the care and concern from
your entire staff. Why did I wait so long to do
this?"
